My name is Dr. Krista Simonson and I am from a small First Nations community in Northern New Brunswick called Ugpi’ganjig (Eel River Bar). I wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I could remember. My parents always supported this dream of mine and without them, I wouldn’t have had the determination and grit which got me where I needed to be.
I graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2017 and since then have worked at various small animal clinics within HRM and East Hants.
I now reside in Enfield, Nova Scotia with my husband and our three children. We also have a menagerie of animals including 3 dogs, a cat , guinea pigs, laying hens , aquarium fish and a trout pond.
I’ve developed many veterinary interests over the years including client communication, dermatology and dentistry. I enjoy learning new skills and challenging myself. I am a meticulous record keeper, am organized and efficient. I genuinely enjoy talking to people, which has become my biggest asset within my career as a veterinarian.
